Engine

Available in a 2.3 litre DISI Turbo engine and a 2.5 litre MZR engine, both in 2WD, you now have a choice for efficiency and driving power.

Put your foot down to put a smile on your face. The high powered MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo engine has a flat torque curve that puts virtually all of the engine’s torque at your command across the engine’s rev range; delivering sports car-like performance with 175 kW of power and 350Nm of torque.

The 2.5 litre engine is known for its efficiency and strong torque at low to mid-range speeds, mated with a 5-speed activematic transmission featuring a wide gear range to give plenty of torque so you can enjoy powerful acceleration when you start off and during driving.

Transmissions

The 2.3 DISI Turbo engine is mated with a 6-speed activematic transmission with a newly adopted slip lockup control, which promotes fuel economy. The 2.5 litre engine comes in a 5-speed activematic transmission. Both transmissions are immaculately matched to the respective engine’s performance characteristics and to aid in improved fuel economy. Both comes with a pseudo-manual mode that upshifts and downshifts easily for spirited driving.

Braking & Handling

The suspension system of the CX-7 employs MacPherson struts up front and multi-link at the rear. The front MacPherson strut provides a firm platform for the steering system and the Multi-link rear suspension features a damper located between the wheel hub and uibody to provide excellent motion control with minimal friction.
