- Stay in the highest gear possible. When you use higher gears, the engine speed of the car is not as aggressive, saving you on fuel and also, reducing the wear on your engine.
- Keep to the speed limit (Uncle Sam will love us for saying this). But seriously, not only can speeding cost you a possible ticket, but also at the petrol pump. Every car has a speed that garners the optimum fuel mileage at, but most cars really start to lose fuel economy as you go beyond 98km/h.
- Switch engine off whenever possible. Whenever waiting for the kids or stopping for a period of time, turn off your car.
- Don’t carry on what you don’t need to. Decreasing your car load increases your fuel economy.
- Finally, contact our Mazda Service Centers and keep your Mazda regularly serviced. It will run more efficiently, reducing overall fuel costs.
