Attention to detail and commitment to refinement is readily apparent from the moment you unlock the doors of the all-new Mazda3. The design and finish of every interior element aims to convey a sporty yet sophisticated image that matches the exterior styling of the car.
The all-new Mazda3 offers a host of luxury features that were organized to create a “zone-layout cockpit environment” which envelopes the driver and makes all controls accessible with minimal hand and eye movement.
This deliberate balance between form and function creates a comfortable and intuitive cabin experience that brings a smile to its driver.
This handy feature, which includes functions like unlocking the doors with a single touch and starting/stopping the engine with a press of a button, makes entry and operation of the all-new Mazda3 easier and more convenient.
Illuminated Entry and Welcome Lighting
Particular care went into designing a charming interior illumination system that gives the car personality and enhances anticipation of the Zoom-Zoom driving experience to come.
When the driver unlocks the car door, the cockpit spotlight, room lamp and foot lamp gradually light up.
When the door is opened, the handle grip lighting fades in.
About the time the driver sits down, the centre display, audio and air-conditioning system light in succession to offer a warm welcome.
Driver's Visibility
Clear visibility at all times is crucial for a driver to concentrate and monitor road conditions. The A-pillars and instrument panel of the all-new Mazda3 were specifically designed and positioned to maximize visibility without compromising the amount of vehicle information available.
Multi-Information Display (MID)
The all-new Mazda3 introduces a new Multi Information Display system which displays audio, trip computer, vehicle settings, maintenance reminders and alerts information on a 3.5-inch dot LCD screen.
Mounted at eye-level and controlled by switches on the steering wheel, the MID system allows the driver to view and retrieve all information without taking his or her eyes off the road or hands off the wheel.
Hoodless Blackout Meter Cluster
The hood that usually sits on top of a meter cluster was removed to improve driver visibility and give the instrument panel a lighter feel.
The blackout feature makes the meters clearer and brighter in both day and night, and the combination of red and blue illumination give them a sporty expression that is shared among Mazda cars.
Steering Wheel Controls & Paddle shifters
With the comprehensive steering wheel controls, the driver can adjust vehicle equipment such as the 6-CD audio, air-conditioning and MID systems, all at the touch of a selector switch.
The 2.0-litre Mazda3 also comes with steering wheel mounted paddle-shifters which enable him or her to deftly shift gears with a simple flick.
Dual-zone Climate-control Air-Conditioning
Independent left and right temperature controls allow individual temperature setting for driver and passenger.
Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH)
Mazda engineers devoted a great deal of effort to achieve NVH standards of premium C-segment cars in the all-new Mazda3 by:
increasing body rigidity and using a quieter alternator to reduce engine vibration input,
changing the overall shape of the intake system to emphasize sounds between 300Hz – 400Hz, and
tuning the engine to create a more soothing and linear note.
