The all-new Mazda3 offers top-of-class levels of active and passive safety features designed to provide a safe, reassuring driving experience and confidence that brings a smile to its driver.
Active Safety Features
The all-new Mazda3 introduces advanced technologies such as Bi-xenon headlamps with auto-lights, auto-leveling and rain sensor to recognize potential dangers sooner. It also offers ABS with Brake Assist as standard equipment to improve the level collision avoidance performance.
Active Headrests
Both front seats of the all-new Mazda3 are equipped with active headrests. In the event of a rear impact, the active headrests use the force with which the occupant is pushed into the seat to instantly move the headrest forward. By quickly and firmly supporting the occupant’s head, the active headrest greatly reduced the load and strain on the neck.
MAIDAS
Mazda’s MAIDAS body is capable of withstanding a wide variety of accidents, including offset collisions and side collisions, and also achieves the top level of crash safety performance in the NCAP tests of the various destination markets.
Body Structure
A variety of measures employed in the vehicle body structure contribute to achieving a high level of collision safety. These include a front-end structure that prevents damage to the radiator and limits the expense of repairs after a low-speed front-end collision, and high-tensile steel used in the rear to realize a high level of damage resistance in the event of rear impact.
Cabin Safety
A full range of safety equipment designed to protect cabin occupants includes the airbag system, seatbelt with double pretensioner and digressive load limiter retractor (LLR), crushable brake pedal, and energy-absorbing soft interior.
